Freelancing

 Freelancing

Some writers have made the leap to freelancing by choice, with the support and encouragement of family and friends, and the payoff in part being that they can write when they want, where they want. Some have a spouse who can support the family while they pursue writing careers, while others continue to do a side job while writing and planning for the future.

Other writers have decided that freelancing was the only way to write. Because of the pressure to make money, they were unable to find an agent or publisher and have to make ends meet by putting words on a page.

. It takes a special kind of talent to be a good freelancer. It also takes skill in researching your target audience to be successful. It takes time and dedication to do it well.

Not everyone can become a good freelancer because of life commitments, or because they are trying to be an artist. Some people choose freelancing to get a book written, in case the first one doesn't take. Others want to give up their day job to write.

Choosing the Role of Freelancer

Because there are so many types of freelancing, it would be impossible for me to do a series of articles on every type. I have included five of the most common.

Freelancing as a constulant

This type of freelance writing is very straightforward. The writer can choose what work to do, or they can choose to write whatever the client wants. The client pays the freelancer for a set amount of time, and the writer puts in as much or as little effort as they choose.

One of the biggest differences between freelancing as a consultant and freelancing as a writer is that the consultant is hired to do specific work, while the writer is hired to write the . This is an important distinction because one person's writing can be considered as a freelancing opportunity while the other is considered a consulting opportunity.

Freelancing as a content provider

In this type of writing, the writer creates and manages a website and blog for the client and does all the administrative work for that .The writer can charge $1,000 or more per month for this type of writing. Most writers will have clients who pay them this way because they value quality.

Freelancing as a professional content writer

Review writing can be done for just about anything and may be good for personal use or for business. The main difference with this type of writing is that a professional review is written for an audience
